Anti-skid Mountaineers
Waterproof above-the-ankle hiking boot in suede and microfiber, on an anti-slip rubber outsole with an EVA insole under the heel.
Description
Waterproof above-the-ankle hiking boot in suede and microfiber, on an anti-slip rubber outsole with an EVA insole under the heel.
An above-the-ankle boot for cold, wet ground. Waterproof, but built with a breathable microfiber panel so it does not turn into a sauna on the climb, on a rubber outsole cut for grip where the ground is loose or slick.
Materials and build
- Suede and microfiber upper
- Waterproof construction, breathable panel
- EVA insole for shock absorption
- Rubber outsole, anti-slip lug pattern
- Lace-up closure, collar above the ankle
- Medium width. No metal toe cap
- 1.000 kg a pair
Fit and sizing
True to size, so order your usual EU size. Sizes run 36 to 47 in a medium width. The collar sits above the ankle and gives support on uneven ground, so it wants a proper hiking sock rather than a thin one.
Terrain and use
Autumn and winter ground: camping, trekking and mountain days where it is cold and wet underfoot. The ankle coverage is the point of this one, so it is more boot than shoe and it is heavier than the low styles in the range. On hot dry trails a mesh shoe will be the better answer.
Care
Brush the suede dry rather than washing it, and let them dry away from direct heat. A suede protector spray now and then keeps the water off the upper.
