Mid-top Climbers

The dry-feet end of the RAX range. A genuine leather upper with a leather lining, sealed against water rather than built to drain, on a rubber outsole with deep lugs for loose ground and wet rock.

Fit and sizing

True to size, so order your usual EU size. Sizes run 39 to 47. The sole adds a little height. The mid-top collar sits above the ankle bone, so it wants a slightly thicker sock than a low shoe.

Terrain and use

Built for cold, wet ground: rain, mud, stream edges and long descents where you want water kept out rather than let through. That is the opposite choice from the draining styles in the range. Leather needs breaking in and it does not breathe like mesh, so it is the wrong shoe for hot dry trails.

Care

Wipe mud off before it dries and let them dry away from direct heat. Feed the leather with a wax or cream now and then to keep the waterproofing working.
